Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the pharmacologic options that optimize the patient's level of functioning by improving the positive symptoms of schizophrenia as well as the cognitive function, negative symptoms, and affective symptoms.
  2. Evaluate the impact of patient treatment in the acute and stabilization phases on long term care and outcomes.
  3. Develop a treatment plan that will have minimal long term
  4. metabolic effects and improve overall patient health and compliance.
